Sew Today, Vogue Patterns Photoshoot
Craftswoman Fabrics history goes back to 1971 when our parent company
Galway Brothers Ltd, first exported Irish Linens and embroidery fabrics to the Americas and Far East.
Since our move in 1984 to the small town of Carrickfergus, historically significant as it lists a Norman castle dating to 1177, the King William of Orange landings, American president Andrew Jackson was born here and countless songs, we have moved in a more fashion lead and consumer based operation.
We have long been advocates of Mail Order and were one of the first to use this method to send fabric all over the UK, Ireland and rest of world.
This continues today in our Mail Order collections that are available for each season, the Autumn/Winter/Spring/Summer Collections, a Bridal Collection and a Dance-wear Collection.
We have a large walk in store, were many customers have commented; 'an aladdin's cave of sewing notions', 'Ireland's No.1 fabric store', Day, Evening, Bridal, Dancewear, Craft & Patchwork Fabrics, coupled with extensive Haberdashery are all here.
We continue our tradition today, of creating a superior customer experience from people who care, all our colleagues are experienced sewers and crafters who have either enjoyed working in a professional dressmaking capacity, or for theatre design, or as a home sewer.
This gives us a wealth of knowledge from many years in all different arenas of dressmaking/fabric selection.
We have now gained support from many mills across the globe, thus enabling us to bring to you interesting and exclusive fabrics to our shores.
